Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma comes from your own blood. A simple blood draw is performed in the office to start. The blood is then spun in a specialized centrifuge kit in order to isolate and concentrate the platelets. At this point, the platelet-rich plasma is prepared for injection back into the body. Platelets are rich in growth factors. They create a pro-inflammatory response when they are injected into damaged tissues to help promote healing at the site of an injury.

Total time for this procedure is approximately 30 minutes. It costs between $500 and $1000 for platelet-rich plasma depending on the exact procedure being performed.
